Boyce, Betty F. Featherkile
Betty F. Boyce, 81, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at her home in Americus.
The daughter of H. Clarence and Cordia Mitchell Featherkile, she was born July 15, 1925, at rural Strong City.
She married E.M. Boyce on June 23, 1946. He survives.
She was a homemaker and also helped her husband in many businesses. Earlier, she taught school in a one-room country school for three years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Women’s Society of Christian Service.
She is also survived by one son, Steven L. Boyce of Reading, and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother in infancy and a sister, Opal George.
A memorial service was held Sunday, July 1, at the Americus United Methodist Church. Mrs. Boyce was cremated. The private family inurnment service was in the Dunlap Cemetery at Dunlap.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hand in Hand Home Care and Hospice in Emporia and sent in care of Penwell-Gabel Council Grove Chapel, 137 N. Union St., Council Grove, KS 66846.
