Brickhouse, Bonnie Jean Pracht

Bonnie Jean Brickhouse, 65, of Topeka, formerly Elmdale, died June 23, 2008.

The daughter of Roland and Myrtle Fox Pracht, she was born Feb. 12, 1943, at Marion.

She grew up in Elmdale and graduated from Elmdale High School She then attended Clark’s Business School and graduated from Washburn University with a bachelor’s degree in social work.

She married Larry Brickhouse on Jan. 18, 1964, at Elmdale. They traveled with the Air Force and returned to Topeka in 1980. He survives.

She worked for the Topeka Public library for 10 years. She also worked for the Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging and for KTWU. She was the founder of and director and counselor with the Topeka branch of Survivors in Suicide.

She was a member of the Unity Church of Christianity and Tecumseh United Methodist Church. She was a member of Artists Associated.

She is also survived by one daughter, Angie Feyh; one brother, Ronnie Pracht of Newton; and one granddaughter. A daughter, Tania Lynn Brickhouse and her parents died earlier.

The funeral was Thursday, June 26, at the Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home in Topeka. The graveside service was in Prairie Grove Cemetery at Cottonwood Falls.
