Brothers, Earl E Sr.
The graveside service for
Earl E. Brothers Sr., 65, of
Hamilton was Dec. 31, 2002, in
Janesville Cemetery, west of
Hamilton. The Rev. Dean Fox
conducted the service.The family suggested that
memorial contributions be
made to the American Cancer
Society and sent in care of the
Wilson Funeral Home, P.O.
Box 488, Madison, KS 66860.
Mr. Brothers died Dec. 26,
2002, at Greenwood County
Hospital in Eureka. He worked for Gaines Oil
and Trust, beginning in 1971,
for 30 1/2 years before he
retired in April 2002 because
of failing health. He previously
owned and operated a service
station; worked for Jack
Blain's Service Station; worked
for Banks Construction until
they closed; the Kinsey Well
Service; and White and Ellis
Drilling Company before and
after his military service. He
served in the Army from Jan.
5, 1960, until March 10, 1962,
and was a reservist for two
more years.
Earl E. Brothers, the son of
Marvin E. and Mary M.
Cundiff Brothers, was born
March 22, 1937, at Artesia,
N.M. His family moved to
Madison when he was 2 years
old. He attended Oil Glen
Country School and graduated
from Gridley High School in
1956. He married Virginia
Tatman on Aug. 31, 1958.
Mr. Brothers is survived by
his wife; two sons, Earl
Brothers Jr. of Hamilton and
Damon Brothers of Eureka;
one daughter, Vickie Crane of
Hamilton; his mother, of
Winfield; three brothers, Gary
Brothers of El Dorado, Rodger
Brothers of Cottonwood Falls
and Bill Brothers of Mohave
Valley; Ariz.; a sister Patricia
Requena of Winfield; and
seven grandchildren. An infant daughter, Robin
Lynne Brothers, and his father
died earlier.
