MARGUERITE CARTTER DEAD

The funeral of Miss Marguerite Cartter, who died in Denver, Sunday, September 20, 1925, was held at the Gregory home in this city, Wednesday afternoon.

Miss Marguerite was the oldest daughter of Captain and Mrs. Paul Cartter of Fort Sam Houston, Texas, where she lived until a short time ago when she went to Denver in the hope of improving her health.

Miss Marguerite Cartter was born in Strong City twenty-one years ago. Her parents moved to this city and Marguerite attended both the city school and the high school here, graduating from the latter in 1920. When her father was stationed at Fort Sam Houston the family moved there and that had since been her home.

Miss Cartter was a granddaughter of the late Dr. W. H. Cartter, U. S. Navy officer, and a great granddaughter of Chief Justice D. K. Cartter who was appointed Chief Justice of the court of the District of Columbia by President Lincoln, and who held that position until his death. Besides her father and mother she is survived by her brother, Wm. Cartter and her sister, Mrs. Virginia Holland, who, with her husband, Lieutenant Temple Holland, are now on the water enroute to the Phillipine Islands, where Lieut. Holland has been transferred.
