Chaney, Margaret Adele Crawford

Margaret Adele Chaney, 85, of Emporia died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at her home. The burial service was Nov. 24 in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Mic McGuire of the Grace United Methodist Church and the Rev. Rick Smith of the First Baptist Church in Cottonwood Falls conducted the service.

Margaret Adele Crawford, the daughter of Park Morris and Marjorie Irwin Crawford, was born Feb. 16, 1918, in Emporia. She married Harry Fred "H.F" Chaney on Aug. 31, 1942, in Sapulpa, Okla. He died March 6, 1971.

Mrs. Chaney was a homemaker. She was a member of the Emporia Friends of the Library.

She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Linsea of Cottonwood Falls and Corkey Forrester of Olathe; three granddaughters and one grandson; and two great- grandchildren. A son, Gail Chaney, died Sept. 18, 1951.
