Cope, Samuel Newton

DEATH OF SAMUEL N. COPE

Samuel Newton Cope, of Strong City died at the Santa Fe Hospital in Topeka Sunday, February 10th, following an illness of several weeks. Mr. Cope who had lived in Strong City for a number of years was employed at the round house and had been with the Santa Fe for many ,years. He was taken to the Santa Fe hospital in Topeka during his illness.

The remains were brought to Strong City Monday and from there taken to Prairie Grove Cemetery where a brief service was held after which interment was made. Rev. Lynn H. Rupert, pastor of the Methodist church, was in charge of the services.

Samuel Cope was the son of G. W. and Annie E. Cope and was born near Boseman, Montana, September 1st, 1876. He was married on October 1st, 1919 at Sedalia, Mo., to Maude L. Faucett. To this union one daughter was born who is Miss! Roberta Faucett Cope.

Mrs. Cope's death occured in Strong City on August 10th, 1924. Besides his daughter Mr. Cope is also survived by three sisters and one brother.

Former Employee of Santa Fe at Strong City had been sick several months.

S N Coe, an employee of the Santa Fe at the round house in Strong City until he was taken to the Santa Fe Hospital in Topeka several months ago, died Sundy at the hospital. The body was brought here and after a brief service at the grave interred in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.

Samuel Newton Cope, son of G W and Annie E Cope, was born near Boseman, Montana. September 01 1876. He was married to Maud L Faucett, October 01 1919, and to this union was born onr daughter, Roberta Faucett Cope, Mrs. Cope died August 10 1924 in Strong City. Besides his daughter Mr. Cope is survived by three sisters and three brothers.
