Cougher, Thomas

Thos. Cougher, whose death we reported last week, was buried on the 6th. His death was the result of a rupture of some years standing. He was shaving a board with draw-knife, the end of the board against a truss which he was wearing. While thus engaged the board slipped and the end struck him in the groin. That happened about 4:30 p. m. of the 3d. He was taken ill immediately and died at 9:15 p. m. of the 5th. The deceased was 65 years. 3 months and 12 days old. He was born in Cumberland county, Penn., moved to Illinois in 1840, and came to Kansas in '79. He was a good citizen and highly respected among his acquaintances.
