Crawford, Emma Viola Mrs. T. G. Crawford Dies In Kansas City
A Former Resident of Clements Dies Suddenly on Way to
Daughter's Home
Mrs. T. G. Crawford of Kansas City, Kans., a well-known resident of Chase County for many Years, died at the home of a daughter,
Mrs. Jerry White, also of Kansas
City, December 19.
She was taken
seriously ill while she was in a taxi going to visit her daughter
and died within a few minutes after she arrived.
She had not been in good health for a number of years, her illness dating from a shock received when struck by lightning.
Emma Viola Horner was the oldest child of the family of John and Alice Horner. She was born near Council Grove, July 9, 1844, and at the time of her death was 60 years, 6 months and 10 days of age.
She was married to T. G. Crawford of Clements, March 21, 1893. They were the parents of three children, Mrs. T. J. Strickland and Mrs. Jerry White, both of Kansas City, and Ralph, a son who died in infancy.
She leaves besides her husband and two daughters, her mother, Mrs. Alice Horner, of Salina; four brothers, Paoli Horner of Hutchinson, Chester, Clarence and Oliver Horner, all of Kansas City; and two sisters, Mrs. C. H. Jacobs of Elmdale, and Mrs. William Kuhl of Salina; five grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Long Mortuary of Kansas City,, and burial was made at the Mount Hope cemetery.
