Crawford, Joe John
Joe Crawford, 89, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at Morris County Hospital, Council Grove. A Celebration of Life service was held Aug. 5, 2003, at the Flint Hills Community Church with the Rev. Jim Bartsch officiating. Interment was in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Joe John Crawford, the son of Dana and Susie Hensler Crawford, was born Oct. 30, 1913, at Diamond Creek. He married Mildred Whitlock on June 5, 1937, at Burlington. She died Dec. 29, 1992.
He was a farmer/stockman in Chase County most of his life and was a member of the United Methodist
Church, Cottonwood Falls.
He is survived by a son, Raymond Crawford of Elmdale; two daughters, Iva Sue Luttrell of Springhill and Dona Brasche of Charlotte, N.C.; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Chrissie Davis and Faye Sigel.
