Crebbs, W. W.
W. W. Crebbs, father of D. E. Crebbs, Santa Fe agent at Strong City, died Friday morning at about 10:30 o'clock at the home of another son, W. L. Crebbs, in Abilene. Mr. Crebbs had been in failing health for the past four weeks but did not become critically sick until Thursday night.
Mr. Crebbs is well known in Strong City as he has made his home here with his son, D. E. Crebbs, and Mrs. Crebbs, at various times. During the past 15 years he has lived with his three sons, D. E. Crebbs of Strong City, W. L. Crebbs of Abilene, and C. A. Crebbs, who lives in Sterling.
The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Abilene and the remains were taken to Independence, Kans., for burial where a service at the grave was conducted Tuesday morning.
Besides his three sons, Mr. Crebbs is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Shafer of Sylvan Grove, Kans., and Mrs. Anna Ferguson of Nevada, Mo., and by two brothers, Sylvester Crebbs of Decatur, Ill., and C. A. Crebbs of Feather Lake, Minn.
Mr. Crebbs was born December 7, 1843, near Littletown, Penna.
He came to Kansas and settled at McPherson in 1884 and has lived in Kansas and Oklahoma since that time. He was a miller and millwright by trade.
