Cress, J. F.

J. F. Cress, one of the most substantial businessman men of Cedar Point, died at his home last Friday afternoon after a long siege of sickness. The funeral was held Sunday at the Presbyterian church in Cedar Point, Rev. Robertson preaching the sermon, after which the services were taken charge of by the Masonic Lodge of Florence, and the remains buried with Masonic honors.

Mr. Cress has been in the general merchandise business in Cedar Point a number of years, coming there from Morris county, where he served at one of the most honored men of his community and his death is a great loss to Cedar Point.

Three months ago if you had asked who were the three most influential business men of Cedar Point you would probably have been told P. P. Schriver, Major Peck and J. F. Cress. Today all three lie dead, buried in the little cemetery south of town. It is a hard blow to the little village.-Florence Bulletin.
