Cusick, Anna Carey

DEATH OF FORMER SAFFORDVILLE WOMAN

The death of Mrs. Jim Cusick, a former Saffordville woman, occurred at her home in New York City on Thursday, Feb. 18, 1943 according to news received by friends in the Saffordville vicinity.

Mrs. Cusick had made her home in New York City in recent years and lived with a son.

The Jim Cusick family lived at Saffordville for a number of years and the family was known by many of that vicinity. Mr. Cusick's death occurred several years ago.

Mrs. Anna Carey Cusick, born Anna Carey, on June 15, 1867, at Holden, Mo., died at her home in New York City on February 17, 1943. She was married to James H. Cusick in 1885. They moved to Saffordville in 1903, and in 1918 went to Wichita. Since that time her home has been in Wichita and New York. Mr. Cusick's death occurred in 1932.

She was a member of the Methodist Church since childhood. Mrs. Cusick is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Goldie Marshall of Wichita and two sons, Harry and Morris Cusick of New York City. Also five grandchildren survive her. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Saffordville, Sunday afternoon, February 21, at 2 o'clock, Rev. Chrome officiating. Mrs. Russell Cooper and Mrs. DeWayne Jones sang, accompanied by Miss Julia InMasche. The pall bearers were Noble Faster, John Petford, Wm. Martin, Miles Dickson, Taylor Dickson and Perry White. Interment was made in Hillside Cemetery at Toledo.
