Dains, Walter L "Gabe" Walter L "Gabe" Dains, 91, of Emporia and formerly of Florence died Jan 11, 2002, at Vintage Manor. Mr. Dains was a ranch hand and worked in Morris, Marion, Lyon and Chase Counties. He moved from Florence to Emporia in 1992.
Walter L. Dains, the son of Asa and Dora Eldred Dains, was born March 19,1910, in Morris County. Mr. Dains is survived by two sons, Perry Dains of Cottonwood Falls and Paul Dains Sr., of Americus; two daughters, June Cunningham of Americus and Joyce Helberg of Reading; a brother, Jack Dains of Heyburn, Idaho; a sister Darlene Gaskell of Shoshown, Idaho; 11 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. His wife, Myrtle; and four brothers, Don, Dusty, Jess and Wylie Dains died earlier.
The graveside service was Tuesday in Hillcrest Cemetery at Florence.
