Dauber, Nona Marie Sayre

Nona Marie Dauber, 92, resident of St. Luke Living Center, Marion, died at the Center Nov. 15, 2003.

Nona Marie Sayre was born on July 11, 1911, at Burns to Luther Clark and Mary Jane "Jennie" McKittrick Sayre. She married Ernest "Boots" Dauber at El Dorado in 1929.

She was a devoted wife and mother. Along with her husband, she owned and operated several Burns businesses including "Boots" and Nona's Corner Cafe and Dauber Truck Garden.

She lived in Burns most of her life until moving to Florence in 1994 and then to Marion in 1995.

She was a member of the Burns United Methodist Church. For 75 years she helped organize and was active in the Burns Chapter of Royal Neighbors of America, dedicated to women and those they care about.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Mildred; and a daughter, Hazel Dauber Dixon.

She is survived by her son, Don, Hutchinson; sister, Laura Parks of Cottonwood Falls; son-in- law Ralph Dixon of Lee's Summit, Mo.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-grand- child; one step-great-grand- child; and one step-great- great-grandchild.

Visitation will be on Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion. Service will be Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. at the Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. Pastor Larry Timm will officiate.

Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Burns. A memorial fund has been established with St. Luke Living Center, Marion, in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 206 Elm Street, Marion, KS 66861.
