Dial, Tom N Jr

Tom N. Dial Jr., 62, of Strong City died at his home April 18, 2006.

Tom, the son of Thomas N. Sr. and Nora Eilene Anderson Dial, was born 1943, at Clarkfield, Minn.

He married Cheryl Kay Wilkins Feb. 4, 1968, at Allen.

He was a dispatcher for Livestock Dispatch in Cottonwood Falls for 15 years. Tom was a member of Norwegian Lutheran Church of Pipestone, Minn. He was a member of the U.S. Army, Vietnam Veteran, Kansas National Guard, All-Veterans Memorial of Cottonwood Falls and VFW Post #9728.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Troy Dial of Emporia; a daughter, Justine Witherspoon of Emporia; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Beverly Hart and Eileen McWilliam both of Admire. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew.

The funeral service was Saturday, April 22, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Pastor Mark Stuckey of Allen Methodist Church conducted the service. Military Honors were by VFW Post 1980 Lowry-Funston and American Legion Ball-McColm Post #5. Burial was in Allen Cemetery, Allen.

Memorials may be made to the Chase County All Veterans Memorial or Hand In Hand Hospice, in care of the funeral home, 605 State St., Emporia, KS 66801.
