Dicke, Gary A

Gary A. Dicke, 61, retired Interstate Brands Truck Driver, died Jan. 25, 2003, at his home. A Celebration of His Life Service was held Jan. 28, 2003, at the United Methodist Church, Cottonwood Falls. Pastor David Parks officiated. Burial followed in Bazaar Cemetery, Bazaar.

Gary Arnold Dicke, the son of Arnold and Violet Rendle Dicke, was born Sept. 24, 1941, in Topeka. He married Jane Ayers on March 15, 1970, in Cottonwood Falls. He worked as a truck driver for Interstate Brands Bakery for 30 years, retiring January, 2000. He was a member and an Elder of Grace Lutheran Church, Strong City, and a member of the Teamsters Union. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Jane, of the home; a son, Todd Dicke of Emporia; his mother, Violet Drinkwater of Emporia; and a sister, Carol Dexter of Emporia. His father preceded him in death. Memorial contributions to the Grace Lutheran Church may be sent in care of Brown- Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, 201 Cherry, Cottonwood Falls, Kan. 66845.
