Fagg, Clifford

Clifford Fagg, 81, Paola, died Thursday, May 14, 1998, at Olathe Medical Center. More commonly known as Tony, he was born Sept. 28, 1916, to Charles and Nora Fagg at Matfield Green, Kan. He was raised on a ranch and attended schools in Chase County.

He served seven years in the National Guard, five years in the 12th Armored Division as a field observer and radio operator, and four years over- seas. After the service, he worked as a cloth cutter at the Betty Rose Coat Co. in Kansas City, Kan., for 16 years, and at Smith and Co. in Paola for 16 years. He was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

He was married to Doris Wright on Aug. 23, 1952, and they became the parents of two daughters. In his spare time, Mr. Fagg loved to listen to music, play his guitar or the organ and be around horses. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are his wife, Doris Fagg of the home; two daughters, Lori Stephens of Moran, and Lana Kettler of Paola; a stepson, Gerald Carlson of Cabot, Ariz.; a sis- ter, Alletha Harbaugh of Cottonwood Falls; six grand- children; and three step grand- children.

Services were Monday, May 18, at the Wilson and Son Chapel in Paola. The Rev. Doyle Carroll, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Paola officiated. Karen Carroll was the organist. Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Kan. Memorials were established in his name to Olathe Hospice Association or the National; Kidney Foundation.
