Fuqua, Leslie Roger Leslie Roger Fuqua, 76, of Council Grove, died Monday, May 2, 2005, at Morris County Hospital.
Leslie Roger Fuqua was born Aug. 20, 1928, at Ottawa, the son of Jessie Franklin and Effie Marova Bowen Fuqua.
He married Arlene Frances Sisson on Sept. 21, 1950, at the Council Grove Christian Church. She preceded him in death in 1999.
He worked for the State of Kansas, Falter Construction, Tony Frank, Council Grove Livestock Auction and various farmers in the area.
He is survived by three sons, James Fuqua and Richard Fuqua of Council Grove and Edward Fuqua of Cottonwood Falls; two daughters, Paula Lawrence of Council Grove and Theresa Tannahill of Cottonwood Falls; a brother, Jerry Fuqua of Horton; two sisters, Betty Burnett of Wilsey and Lola Tornquist of Council Grove; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 6, at Penwell-Gabel Council Grove Chapel with burial to follow at Four Mile Cemetery.
Mr. Fuqua will lie in state Thursday, May 5, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Family and friends will gather from 7 to 8 p.m. that evening.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association sent in care of the chapel.
