Grimmett, Barbara Jeanne Hudson

Barbara Jeanne Grimmett, 72, Waverly, formerly of Americus, died Aug. 12, 2005, at Coffey County Hospital, Burlington.

Barbara, the daughter of Harry and Mary Hager Hudson, was born Oct. 2, 1932, in Cottonwood Falls. She graduated from Chase County Community High School in Cottonwood Falls. She married Cleo Grimmett June 4, 1950, in Emporia. They divorced in 1971. She was a housewife. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waverly.

Barbara is survived by two daughters, Patricia Nelson, Howard and Shirley Williams, Salina; four grandchildren; 13 grandchildren; and four sisters, Ruby Reynolds, Houston Texas, Ruth Rice, Topeka, Roberta Allen, Cottonwood Falls and Marion Stone, Olathe. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

A graveside service was held Aug. 16, 2005, at Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cottonwood Falls. Pastor Rick Smith officiated. Memorials to Sunset Manor Rest Home, Waverly or the Kidney Foundation may be sent do Croy Funeral Home, Box 70, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
