Grubb, Pearl Joy Thornton

Pearl Joy Grubb, 66, of Mena, Ark., died March 9, 2002, at Mena. Mrs. Grubb was a homemaker. Pearl Joy Thornton, the daughter of John and Matie Lorane Phillips Thornton was born March 12, 1935, at Emporia.

She married Wayne Grubb Sr., at Eureka. Mrs. Grubb was a member of the Canaanland Church in Mena. She is survived by her husband, three sons, Donald E Grubb and John C Grubb, both of Mena, Ark., and Wayne E. Grubb Jr., of Cabron, Calif.; one daughter, Judy Ann Brisco of Mena, Ark.; two sisters, Lucille Mallon of Emporia and Irene Tannahill of Cottonwood falls; two brothers , Ralph Thornton of Republic, Mo., and John Thornton of Bentonville, Ark.; two stepchildren, Paul Grubb and Bonnie Grubb, both of Toronto; and 29 grandchildren. Her parents died earlier.

The funeral was March 12 at the Canaanland Church at Mena. Burial was in the Pinecrest Memorial Park at Mena. The Beasley-Wood Funeral Home in Mena had charge of the arrangements.
