Chase County Obituaries

Hall, Marlene Marlene Hall, 71, Olivet and formerly a resident of the Emporia area, died at the Saint Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. on Friday, Sept. 3, 2004.
Marlene Long was born at Cottonwood Falls on July 24, 1933, the daughter of Jesse James and Flora Britain Long. She married and later divorced, John Studer. On Jan. 9, 1962, she married Jim Hall, Sr. at Springfield, Mo. He died Sept. 9, 1992.
Mrs. Hall had worked at a number of different places during her lifetime.
She was a member of the Old Time Pickers and
Fiddlers Assn., the Auxiliary to Fraternal Order Of Eagles Aerie #2587 (Emporia) and the Auxiliary to the American Legion Post in Burlington. She had attended Chase County High School.
She is survived by four sons, Bill Studer,
Burlington, Kenneth
Studer, Strong City,
Michael Studer, Cottonwood Falls and Jim Hall, Jr., Emporia; a daughter, Mary Williams, Burlington; two brothers, Bob Long, Cottonwood Falls and Bill Long, Albuquerque, NM; two sisters, EvaJean Tregellas,
Wichita and Betty Yeager, Bazaar; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. The service was conducted by Pastor Bill Kniesley, Chaplain at BETO Junction. Interment was in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cottonwood Falls.
A memorial has been established, to be designated later, with contributions sent in care of the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State St., Emporia, KS 66801.
