Harding, Lois I

Lois I. Harding, 49, of Diamond Springs, died Monday, July 12, 2004, at the Newman Memorial Hospital, Emporia, after a long battle with cancer.

Lois I. Miser, the daughter of Wayne L. and Mary Lou Mickey Miser, was born Aug. 24, 1954 at Council Grove. She graduated from Council Grove High School with the class of 1972.

She married Kelsey L. Harding on Oct. 16, 1988, at her home in Diamond Springs. He survives.

Mrs. Harding was dispatcher for the Morris County Sheriff Department until her health began to fail. She was a member of the Council Grove Methodist Church and was a 4-H leader for the Burdick Hustlers.

She is also survived by three sons, Konley Harding, Kordell Harding and Kendall Harding; four brothers Vernon Miser and Gary Miser both of Emporia, Marlin Miser of Diamond Springs and Eldon Miser of Wilsey; and three sisters, twins Louise Lemon of Lebo and Louene Bacon of Topeka and Lou Ann Schrader of Olathe. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral service was held July 16, 2004, at the United Methodist Church, Council Grove, with Rev. Shirley Edgerton officiating. Burial was at the Diamond Springs Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Harding Boys Trust Fund at the Farmers & Drovers Bank in Council Grove, and can be sent in care of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Herington Chapel, 404 South Broadway, Herington, KS 67449-3038.
