Haselhorst, Stephen R

Stephen R. Haselhorst, 51, of Strong City died Jan. 17, 2002 at Morris County Hospital, Council Grove. Stephen R. Haselhorst was born May 24, 1950, at Hays to Ray and Odelia Werth Haselhorst. He married Chrysanne M. Peak Stice on August 14, 1993.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stephen R. Haselhorst Jr., Walker; and Shane R. Haselhorst, Kinsley; one daughter, Shara K Haselhorst, Bison; one stepdaughter, Dustin Peterson, Council Grove; his mother, Odelia Haselhorst, Hays; a brother, Charles H. Haselhorst, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Cheryl Kessler, Overland Park; and Janet Buddemeyer, Lake Lotawana, Mo.; and six grand-daughters. He is preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Haselhorst was owner/operator of Peyton Creek Trucking Co. He was also co-owner of Golden Plains Trucking in Hays until 1992. Services were held Jan. 21, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia. Fr. Dan Gardner officiated. Interment was in Hillside Cemetery at Toledo. Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial funds are suggested to a scholarship fund for the granddaughters.
