Hedrick, Sarah B Johns

Sarah B. Hedrick, 94, died Oct. 8, 2005, at her home in Emporia.

Sarah, the daughter of Thomas E. and Luella Golay Johns, was born Oct. 12, 1910, at Emporia. She graduated from Emporia High School. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Emporia. She married Edward Morgan Hedrick May 13, 1933, in Missouri. He died on Nov. 12, 20,01, in Emporia.

She lived in Kansas City, Mo., from 1929 to 1932, where she worked at Unity School of Christianity in Lees Summit, Mo. She later moved back to Emporia and worked at Palace Clothing Store and Pool Dry Goods Clothing.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Fulton of Emporia; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Thomas E. Johns Jr. and Wayne Johns.

The funeral service is Thursday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. at The Patio Garden, Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Father Darren Henson of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia, will conduct the service.

Interment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to TriSigma Sorority in care of Roberts Blue Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State St., Emporia, KS 66801.
