Henricks, Louise A Adams

Louise A. Henricks, 84, a resident of the Emporia Presbyterian Manor, died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Newman Regional Health.

Louise A. Adams, the daughter of Fred Lee and Gladys Lucile McCully Adams, was born Feb. 1, 1922, at Florence. She married Dennis E. Henricks on March 15, 1943, at Florence. He died March 11, 1964.

She worked in the financial aid offices at Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia and Kansas State University in Manhattan. She was also clerk of the Lyon County District Court in Emporia and a court reporter. She began her career as a secretary at Florence High School.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Emporia and the Blue Valley United Methodist Church in Manhattan. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and American Legion Auxiliary in Manhattan.

She is survived by one son, Wilson Dennis Henricks of Emporia; two daughters, Mary Lucile Ayers of Cottonwood Falls and Louise Ann Notson of Lenexa; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. Two brothers and a grandson died earlier.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Claudia Bakely of the First United Methodist Church will conduct the service. Mrs. Henricks was cremated, with the private family inurnment service to be at a later date in Florence Cemetery at Florence. Memorials are suggested to the Terry Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.
