Hinkson, Frank

Frank Hinkson, 92, of Lazbuddie, Texas, died Dec. 25, 2002, in Parmer County. Mr. Hinkson was born Oct. 19, 1910, in Hall County, Neb. He married Lavonne Mecham, in Grand Island, Neb., on Dec. 28, 1933. Mr. Hinkson had lived in the Lazbuddie Community since 1934, moving there from Cairo, Neb. He was member of the , Lazbuddie United Methodist Church. Mr. Hinkson was President of Lazbuddie School Board from 1952 until 1961. He served as State Committeeman for the Republican Party; served on the Texas State ASCS Committee; Past Master and a 50 year member of the Muleshoe Masonic Lodge #1237 AF and AM, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.

He served as District Deputy, received the Masonic Golden Trowel Award, Past Patron and 50 year, member of. the Muleshoe Eastern Star, pre sent member of the Hereford Chapter of Order of Eastern Star and member of the Muleshoe District Hospital Board from 1974 to 1978. He held many offices in Lazbuddie U.M.C. He was a lifetime farmer/stockman and Registered Foundation Angus Breeder. He and his uncle drilled the first irrigation well in Parmer County.

The funeral was Dec. 28, 2002, at Lazbuddie Methodist Church. Rev. Randy Thomas, Pastor of the Lazbuddie Methodist Church and Rev. Al Jennings conducted the ser- vice. Burial was in Lazbuddie Cemetery Lazbuddie, Texas. Mr. Hinkson is survived by his wife; two sons, Michael Hinkson of Matfield Green and Frank Hinkson II of Cottonwood Falls; two daughters, Barbara Lust of Lazbuddie, Texas and Carolyn Pilgrim of Cottonwood Falls; a sister, Helen Larson of Grand Island, Neb.; two brothers, Keith Hinkson and Preston Hinkson both of Cairo, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Alice McKeag; and three brothers, Everett, Hugh and Dean Hinkson.
