ImMasche, Victor L
Victor L. ImMasche, 91, of Lawrence, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.
Mr. ImMasche was a public school teacher and an elementary school principal from 1940 to 1943 and then was secretary-treasurer at Teichgraeber Milling Co. in Emporia from 1946 to 1967. He was a member of the Emporia Board of Education from 1957 to 1965 and a Lyon County Commissioner from 1976 to 1984. He moved to Lawrence in 1988.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army 83rd Infantry Division from December 1943 to December 1945. He took part in the June 6, 1944
Normandy landing. In December 1944 he was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Victor L. ImMasche, the son of Henry R. and Anna Mae Lyles ImMasche, was born March 23, 1912, at Saffordville. He married Berniece Kyle on Aug.6, 1934. She died Jan. 12, 2000.
Mr. ImMasche was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Emporia. He was a past commander and member of the American Legion BallMalcolm Post 5, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of a Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by a daughter, Ann Eversole of
Lawrence; a son, Michael ImMasche of Fort Collins, Colo; a brother, Robert ImMasche of Houston; and two grandchildren. Two brothers, Howard ImMasche and Mark ImMasche, died earlier.
The inurment service will be at Hillside Cemetery at Strong City.
