Ingalls, Donnie R

Donnie R. Ingalls, 81, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 18, 2006, at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.

Donnie Ray Ingalls, the son of George Edward and Flora Alma Stoltz Ingalls, was born July 17, 1924, at Bazaar. He and Sibyl Tyler were married Nov 1, 1947, at Holbrook, Ariz. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Strong City American Legion. He was a heavy equipment operator for Crofoot Feedlots, Chase County and the City of Strong City until he was forced to retire due to health problems.

He is also survived by two sons, Donnie R. Ingalls Jr. and Gerald L. Ingalls of Strong City; two daughters, Nancy L. McCorgary and Kathy S. Sigler of Strong City; one brother, Lee Roy "PeeWee" Ingalls of Cedar Point; two sisters, Viola Yoakem of Cottonwood Falls and Pansy Oldham of Buffalo, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Ingalls, two brothers in infancy; and two sisters, Dolly Bell Ingalls and Lillie Lassley.

Services were Monday, May 22, at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls with officiant, The Rev. John Hastings of United Methodist Church, Strong City. A military graveside service, conducted by a Ft. Riley Honor Guard, followed at the Strong City Cemetery, Strong City. Memorial contributions to Chase County All-Veterans Memorial may be sent in care of the funeral home, 201 Cherry, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
