Jennings, Robert E, "Bob" Robert E "Bob" Jennings, 76, died Jan 06 2002, at Stormont-Vail
Hospital in Topeka. A Celebration of His Life service will be held, Jan. 10,
2002, at 2 p.m., at Twelfth Avenue Baptist Church, 2023 W. 12th, Emporia. Rev.
Garen Forsythe and Rev Al Areheart will officiate. Interment will follow at
Hillside Cemetery, Toledo Township.
Robert E Jennings, the son of Austin
P and Ruth Herbert Jennings was born Sept. 12, 1925, at Winfield. He married
Marjorie Swenson on April 3, 1958 at Wichita.
Mr. Jennings served in the
United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a Navy
hospital corpsman serving with the United States Marine Corps. He retired as a
Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician for Sedgwick County.
He was a
member of the Twelfth Avenue Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife,
Marjorie, of the home, one brother, Edward H Jennings of Belle Vista, Ark.; one
sister, Thresette Jantz of Wichita, three nieces and one nephew; and his
father-in-law, Fred Swenson of Cottonwood Falls.
TheCasket will be
closed. Friends may call at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home. Wednesday,
from noon until 8PM and at Twelfth Avenue Baptist Church Thurday from noon until
service time. Memorial contributions to the Twelfth Avenue Helping Hands Fund
may be sent in care of the funeral home.
