Laughridge, Hattie Mary

Hattie Laughridge, 97, died Jan. 22, 2004, at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.

Hattie Mary Rosiere was born Nov. 7, 1906, the daughter of Constine and Mary Johnson Rosiere. She attended rural schools in Marion Country. In 1930 she was united in marriage to Russell Whitford. He died April 15, 1937. She was married to Robert R. Laughridge Dec. 23, 1941. The couple moved to Cedar Point where they lived for over 50 years, they then moved to Peabody Community Living Center, February 1992. Robert died Feb. 1, 2000. Hattie moved to Marion Manor in November of 2003.

While in Cedar Point, Hattie was a faithful member of the Cedar Point United Methodist Church. She also belonged to the United Methodist Women, Delta Club at Cedar Point and Eastern Star of Marion. She served as Matron in Eastern Star. Hattie was also the Cedar Point News Correspondent for the Marion County Record.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, husbands, and a son, Robert R. Laughridge. Services were Jan. 24 at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion with pastor Jim Pohlman officiating. Interment was at the Grant Township Cemetery, rural Marion. A memorial fund has been established with Youthville of Newton.
