Lutt, Jim E

Strong City native Jim E. Lutt, 61, of Dighton died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at Lane County Hospital in Dighton.

Mr. Lutt drove a truck for Graham County Farmers Trucking Co. of Hill City, where he was a longtime resident. He moved to Dighton in 2000.

Jim E. Lutt, the son of Edward E. and Virginia A. Bandy Lutt, was born Dec. 26, 1941, in Strong City. He attended schools in Strong City, McPherson and Palco and graduated from Hill City High School in 1960. He then attended Brown¬Mackie Business College in Salina.

He married Kathy Jenkins on Aug. 23, 1975, in Emporia. He attended the Bible Fellowship Church in Dighton. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Hill City.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Michelle Hertel of Haysville; a son, Jeffery Lutt of Omaha, Neb.; two stepdaughters, Kathy Ann Thompson of Pittsburg and Verna Kay Stanton of Joplin, Mo.; and six grandchildren. His parents and a step¬son, Vernon Lee Stanton, died earlier.

The funeral was Dec. 20 at the Bible Fellowship Church in Dighton. The burial service was Dec. 22 in Matfield Green Cemetery.
