Magill, Malinda J Patton
Malinda J. Magill Dies Here at Home of Her Daughter
Mrs. Malinda J. Magill, 86, who has been living here for the last year and a half at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Baker at 524-B Lincoln Street, Watsonville, passed away early this morning.
She was a member of the Christian Church of Rialto, California, and a native of Indiana.
Besides Mrs. Baker, three other daughters survive, Mrs. C. R. Roth of Flagstaff, Arizona; Mrs. D. M. Barker and Mrs. R. Farmer, both of San Bernardino; also five sons, Alex of Colton, Walter of Santa Barbara, William of Los Angeles, Monroe of San Francisco, and Arnold Magill of Artesia, California.
The funeral will be held from White's Chapel, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, followed by interment in the family plot at the Pioneer Watsonville Cemetery.
Pioneer Cemetery plot map shows she was buried in Grave #23 in Section 12, (second row from "D" Avenue).

Malinda Jane (Patton) Magill was born Oct. 31, 1851, in Sullivan Co., Indiana, the daughter of John and Mary Ann (Ring) Patton.
She came to Chase Co., Kansas in 1868 with her parents, sisters and brothers, and they lived just south of the Cottonwood River where the Stone Arch Bridge stands.
She was married on January 2, 1872, in Chase Co., Kansas, to John Marshall Magill. Malinda and John Marshall Magill had ten children: Isabella M., Adaline M., John Alexander, Josephine, Walter Marshall, William Henry, Joseph Orin, James Monroe, Leona M., Arnold Sylvester Magill. After her marriage Malinda and Marshall moved to Harvey Co., Kansas, all but the youngest child was born in Kansas.
In 1890 they moved to San Bernardino County, California, where she remained until her last two years when she went to stay with her daughter.
