Mann, Anna Mrs. John A. Mann, Sr., of Cottonwood Falls, a resident of this county 56 years, died suddenly at her home Sunday afternoon at 3.30 o'clock after a short sickness. Mrs. Mann became sick Saturday night and grew worse until her death.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon and interment was in Miller cemetery. Rev. E. E. Satterlee conducted the services. The pall bearers were A. L. Deering, C. H. Wadsworth, Homer Evans, Wm. H. Brown, R. Z. Blackburn and J. B. Smith. The crowd which attended the funeral services was one of the largest ever at a funeral in Cottonwood Falls:
Anna May Chourest was born April 29 1875 in Ohio and passed away at her home in Cottonwood Falls, on Sunday afternoon, November 26, 1933. She was 58 years, 6 months and 27 days of age.
At the age of two years she came with her parents to Chase County, and they made their home on a farm on Buck Creek. She attended the Buck Creek school and on January 1, 1890, she was united in marriage to John A. Mann. Mr. and Mrs. Mann lived on a farm on Buck Creek until 1914, when Mr. Mann was elected county clerk and they moved to Cottonwood Falls, which has since been their home.
They were the parents of seven children, Ray Clifford, Anna and Allen having died In infancy. The children surviving are John Mann, Jr., Mrs. Bertha Hickman and Leslie E. Mann of Cottonwood Falls, and Mrs. Maude Malott of Kansas City, Kans.
Mrs. Mann united with the Methodist church many years ago and was also a member of the Ladies' Social Union and has been a faithful worker in this organization and the church.
Besides her children, she is survived by her husband, John A. Mann, and six grandchildren, Wilbur, Allen, Howard, Jack, Jr., Mary Jane and Joleen Mann, all of Cottonwood Falls.

MRS J A MANN DIED SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
Mrs. J. A. Mann died suddenly at her home in this city Sunday afternoon, following an illness of only a few hours.
Her death is a severe shock to her family and many friends. Most of her neighbors did not know she was ill when the word went around of her death. She had become ill Saturday night from an attack of acute indigestion. This and heart trouble caused her death about 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
The funeral services were held from the. Methodist church at 2.00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. E. E. Satterlee, pastor of the Methodist churches of thls city and Strong City, conducted the service. Interment was in the Miller cemetery southeast of the city on Southfork.
Mrs. Mann's maiden name was Anna Chourest. She was born in Ohio April 29, 1875. She came to Chase county with her people when a child of two years. This county had since been her home.
After reaching womanhood she was married on January 1, 1890 to John A. Mann. Four children were born to this union, all of whom are living. They are John Mann, Jr., Mrs. Bertha Hickman and . Leslie Mann, all of this city, and Mrs. Maude Malott, of Kansas City, Kans. She is also survived by her husband and six grandchildren, who are the children of Mr. and Mrs, John Mann, Jr. and Mrs. Leslie Mann.
The Mann family lived on a farm south of this city
on Buck Creek, where they
engaged in farming and the cattle business. They moved to this city When Mr. Mann was elected county clerk. He was in this office during the drafting of men for the world war. After completing his term as clerk the Mann family continued to make their home here where Mr. Mann has since been engaged in the livestock business.
