Martin, Eleazer

Eleazer Martin was born in Deleware county, Ohio, Nov. 9, 1826, and died Dec. 27, 1905, aged 70 years, 1 month, and 18 days. Mr. Martin came to Chase county, Kansas, with his family in 1876 settling on Middle creek where he lived until 1887 he moved to South Fork where he resided until his death.

Mr. Martin had a severe siskness in 1895, since which time he has been an invalid, at times a great sufferer. Since the death of his wife in October, 1902, his son James Martin, and daughters have made their home with him. He was a kind husband and parent, a good neighbor and for many years a member of the Baptist church.

He leaves to mourn him three brothers; Sabers, James and Meelhmiah Martin, all of Deleware county, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Mrs. Phoebe Hull, of Topeka; one son, James Martin, of Bazaar; besides a number of grand children and great grand children who have the sympathy of the community. The funeral was conducted from the home, Rev. W.M.Rodgers of Matfield officiating. Interment was made in Bazaar cemetery.
