Matile, Teresa M Korphage "Tiny"

Teresa M. Matile, 82, of Elmdale, died Feb. 28, 2003, at Vintage Manor, Emporia. Teresa M. Korphage, the daughter of George and Matilda Etzkorn Korphage, was born May 16, 1920, on a farm southeast of Olpe. She married Daniel H. Matile on Dec. 31, 1946, in Wichita. Mrs. Matile was a home- maker and seamstress. She was employed at Boeing, in Wichita, sewing seat covers for the B-21 airplanes during WWII. She later was employed as a seamstress at Paragon, Inc., a clothing manufacturer in Herington and Rigid Steel, Cottonwood Falls, doing tele- marketing. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Strong City. She also was a member of the St. Anthonv's Alter Society, the Social Circle Extension Club, Bazaar and the Emporia Saddle Club.

She is survived by her husband of the home; a daughter, Elaine K. Russett of Jetmore; three sons, D.J. Matile of Herington, Joe A. Matile of Liberal and Gene C. Matile, Elmdale; and four grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fred, John, George, Bernard, Leonard, Lawrence and Leo Korphage; sisters Anna Meier, Rose Schneider and Addie Schneider; and one grandson.

Mass of Christian Burial was March 5, 2003, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Strong City. Father Jeffrey Fasching officiated. Interment was at the Strong City Cemetery Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Kansas State High School Rodeo Association or Shriner's Hospitals for Crippled Children, and can be sent in care of Charter Funerals, 501 W. 6th Ave. Emporia, KS 68801.
