Mauderly, Wilhelinina Kelso
While Mrs. Mauderly has been in poor health for several years and suffered much in the past six months with chronic valvible heart disease and complications, her condition seemed improved, thus her departure came as a sudden shock to her family and many friends on Monday, November 8, 1920, when God saw best, to call her to His heavenly kingdom.
Wilhelinina Kelso was born in Merklenburg, Germany, November 1, 1860, being 60 years, 11 months and 19 days at the time of her death. Her girlhood days were spent in Madison county, Illinois, near Highland and since 1891, has resided in Kansas, for the past 20 years in Obese county, west of Elmdale.
Mrs. Mauderly's friends were innumberable, To know her was to love her, always the same sweet smile of welcome to all and her whole life was one' long sacrifice for others. No task was ever too difficult no hardship too severe to assist those in need of help or sympathy or further the happiness of those she loved. In her, early girlhood days she ' became a member of the Lutheran church of , which she remained a true christian member. Much of her time was de-voted to the word of God, which also was her every" comfort during her months of suffering which she bore cheerfully and patiently as only a true christian does. Her entire faith was built on her Lord and Savior ever trusting His guidance and unchanging love,' always ready' to serve Him, making her life a true model of Faith, Hope and Charity. Pleasant memories that can never be effaced will ever fill the hearts of those dear to her who will ne'er forget her kindness and good deeds. She will be
sadly missed in her home and community.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. H. W. Jacob, pastor of the Lutheran church, at the home at 1:30 p. in. and at the church at 2:30 p. an. Wednesday, November 10th. The remains were laid to rest in the Elk cemetery.
Mrs. Mauderly is survived by her husband, five sons, and two daughters. They are: 'Fired and Chris Meirerhoff, Frank Jr., Joe, Carl, Louise and Marie Maudenly, besides a number of grand-children, other
relatives and a host of friends. A companion, two sons and' two daughters have answered the final summons
Sweetly fell asleep in Jesus, ere the close of the day,
To awaken in the land of glory where all tears are wiped away.
He has prepared for her a mansion far away from earthly pain
Now her suffering life is ended and our loss is her great gain
When our pilgrimage is ended and we reach the shining shore
In the glory of Gods presence we shall meet to part no more
God grant we may rest as sweetly when our life like hers is done
Till then we yield with gladness, our dear mother to Him to keep
And rejoice in the sweet assurance,
"He giveth his loved ones sleep."
