May, Oscar Levi Funeral services to honor the memory of Oscar L May, Elmdale, who died Monday night at the Marion hospital are being held this afternoon, Thursday, at the Methodist church at Elmdale. Interment will be in the Elmdale cemetery with Masonic graveside services. Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. May, Oscar Levi
Oscar Levi May, eldest son of Dexter and Beth May was born July 31, 1884 at the family home northest of Elk, in the west edge of Chase County, and passed away Monday night, January 3, 1949 at the Marion hospital. He was 64 years of age. He entered St. Francis hospital, Wichita, December 9 for observation and was released December 23, when he returned to his home much improved. He suffered a heart attack late Monday afternoon and was taken immediately to the Marion hospital, where he died later that evening. Mr. May spent his entire life on the farm where he was living at the time of his death.
He was united in marriage with Miss May Kearns at the family home January 1, 1910. To this union two children, Melvin and Beth were born. The deceased was a member of the Elk Methodist Church, where he and his family have always taken an active part. He also was a member of Burdick Lodge No 429 AF & AM.
