McCabe, Thomas Henry
T H McCABE DIES AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS
T. H. McCabe, prominent Bazaar farmer, died suddenly Saturday morning in St. Mary's Hospital at Emporia after a short sickness with acute nephritis. He became sick Friday afternoon and was taken to the Emporia Hospital, Friday evening. His condition became worse and he died early Saturday morning.
Mr. McCabe was a life-long resident of this county. He was born at Bazaar on March 16, 1874, and remained a resident of that community until his death Saturday.
He took an active part in Farmers' Union activities and was
treasurer of the board of the Strong City Farmers' Union at the time of his death.
Funeral services were held at the St. Anthony's church in Strong City at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, and interment was in Bazaar cemetery. Rev. Father Albers was in charge of the services.
The pall bearers were Homer Evans, H.C. O'Reilly, W. N, Oles, Frank Roniger, Albert. Scott and Carl Palmer.
Thomas Henry McCabe, son of Barney and Jane McCabe, was born March 16, 1874, at Bazaar, Kans., and died March 21, 1936 at the age of 62 years and 5 days. The death occured at St. Mary's Hospital in Emporia, Kans.
After graduating from the Bazaar public schools and attending the Emporia Business College, he again took up his life occupation of farming on his farm near Bazaar. On May 24, 1899, he was united in marriage to Ellen Barbara Murphy. To this union six children were born, three of whom died in infancy.
His passing is mourned by his wife, Ellen Barbara; two daughters, Mrs. R. W. Evans of Winslow, Ariz.; and Mrs. H. R. Rohwedder of Harper, Iowa; one son, Thomas Edward McCabe of Bazaar; his mother, Mrs. Jane McCabe of Bazaar; two sisters, Miss Sarah McCabe of Bazaar, and Mrs. Etta Vestring of Wichita, and one brother, James B. McCabe of Bazaar.

SUDDEN DEATH OF THOM. H McCABE
The family, relatives and friends of Thomas H. McCabe, of Bazaar, were shocked and saddened at his sudden death which occurred in St. Mary's hospital in Emporia last Saturday afternoon, following an illness of only a couple of days.
Mr. McCabe became ill at his home Wednesday but it was not until Friday evening that the seriousness of his case was realized. He was rushed to the hospital, his death occurring within a few hours.
His passing has removed one of the county's oldest and best known farmers. He had been a life-long resident of the Bazaar vicinity, his parents being among the first families to settle in the Bazaar neighborhood of this county. He had been prominent in the farming and live-stock business.
For many years he had been a director in the Chase County National bank. He had been an active worker in the Farmers Union organizations of the county and was widely acquainted in the Bazaar and Cottonwood Falls vicinities.
The funeral services were held from St. Anthony's Catholic church in Strong City at 10100 o'clock Tuesday morning. Rev. Father Albers was in charge of the services. Interment was made in the Bazaar cemetery.
Pall bearers were Horner Evans, Harry O'Reilly, W. N. Oles, Frank Roniger, Albert Scott, and Carl Palmer.
