McCoy, Alice L Dickey

Concerning Mrs J. A. McCOY

The funeral services of Mrs. J. A. ,McCoy who died at San Antonio, Texas, last Friday, where she and Mr. McCoy had gone from their home at Emporia only about two weeks before to spend the winter, were held at the McCoy home at 801 Union St. in Emporia at 10:30 o'clock this (Wednesday) morning, after which interment was made in the Maplewood cemetery.

Mrs. McCoy, died following a brief illness due to pneumonia at the Santa Rosa Hospital at San Antonio.

Alice L. Dickey was born at Central College, near Columbus, Ohio, November 11,1899. She was married to John A. McCoy at Central College, November 21, 1872. To them were born two children, a daughter, who died in infancy, and a son, Walter A. McCoy, who died March 7, 1919. The McCoys came to Jefferson county, Kansas, in 1872; and to Chase county in the "eighties" where they located on, a farm in the Diamond Creek vicinity and lived until about eighteen years ago when they moved to Emporia which had since been their home.

Mrs; McCoy is survived by Mr. McCoy and two brothers, ,C. L. Dickey and M. C. Dickey, of Columbus, Ohio. Mrs„ McCoy was a member of the Methodist Church, a member of the Women's Relief Corps, an active member in the home missionary society and in the Priscilla Club and the Knights and Ladies of Security.

Mr. McCoy and Capt. Hugh Edwards, who is stationed in Texas accompanied the body of Mrs. McCoy to Emporia.
