Francis B. "Frank" McCracken, b. 22 Jun 1910, Bazaar, KS, d. 18 Sep 1968, Rocky Ford, Otero Co, CO

Native of Bazaar Dies in Colorado

Frank B. McCracken, 58, of Rocky Ford, Colo., who was a native of Bazaar, died suddenly Wednesday, Sept. 18, of a heart attack. He was ill only a few hours.

A veteran Mountain States Telephone Company employee, Mr. McCracken was born June 22, 1910, in Bazaar, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. McCracken. Mr. McCracken started with the telephone company March 31, 1934, as a combination man in Pueblo, Colo. On April 1, 1937, he went to station installation in Pueblo. October 16, 1937, he was made temporary exchange manager at Fowler, Colo. January 5, 1938, he returned to Pueblo as station installer until March 22, 1939, when he transferred to Rochy Ford as a combination man.

Surviving him are his wife Mary and son, Ronnie, of the home; two other sons, William F. McCracken, of California, and Robert McCracken, Fort Collins, Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. Carol Schwilling, Cheyenne, Wyo; two brothers, Clarence McCracken, Bazaar, and Joe McCracken, Shawnee, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Peck and Mrs. Hattie Heathman, Matfield Green, and Mrs. Lorene Hall, of Africa.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Ustick Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Pierre officiating. Burial was in Rocky Ford Cemetery. Attending the rites from this area were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence McCracken, Bazaar; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hastings, Cottonwood Falls; Mrs. Reynold Peck, Matfield Green, and David Daub, Strong City,"
