McDowell, J L Mrs MRS J L McDOWELL DEAD
A message was received from John McDowell of LaCygne, Kansas, Tuesday telling of the death of his mother, Mrs. J L McDowell. Mrs. McDowell died Monday night. The funeral services will be held at 10:30 o'clock Thursday morning. Mrs. McDowell had been in failing health for several months.
The many friends and acquaintences of the McDowell family who lived in Thurman vicinity for many years will be grieved to learn of Mrs. McDowell's death. After leaving this county the family first moved to Emporia and later to LaCygne. Mr. McDowell died at LaCygne several years ago.
Several of the sons and daughters of Mr and Mrs. McDowell attended the Chase County High School here about twenty years ago when the family moved here from Thurman. John and Dan and Angie will be remembered by many former students of the school.
