McKee, Leo F.

Dr. Leo F. Mckee, 89, died June 13, 2005, at Corona, Calif.

Leo F. McKee was born May 27, 1916 at Sioux City, Iowa, to S.M. and Julia McKee.

He attended schools in Kansas City, Kan., and graduated from KU Med Center in 1939. He interned at Elizabeth General Hospital in Elizabeth, N.J., where he met and married Lillian Leonard in 1941. She preceded him in death on June 27, 1999.

Dr. McKee served in the Army as a Captain from 1941 to 1946. He practiced medicine in Cottonwood Falls from June 1, 1946, until his retirement on June 1, 1986. He moved to Oceanside, Calif., after his retirement, where he resided for 18 years.

He is survived by two sons, Leonard McKee of Lenexa, Kan., and Lyle McKee of Corona, Calif; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral serviced were held on Friday, June 17, at the Presbyterian Church in Vista, Calif. Burial at Prairie Grove Cemetery in Cottonwood Falls will take place at a later date. Eternal Hills Mortuary in Oceanside, Calif., handled the arrangements.

A memorial has been established at the Bazaar Schoolhouse in Cottonwood Falls do Karen Line, RR1, Box 112H, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
