McLean, Mary Elizabeth Williams A resident of Strong City for the past 57 years, Mrs. A. McLean died Saturday afternoon at the home of a daughter in Emporia after a short illness. Mrs. McLean had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Ridley, in Strong City since the death of her husband, Albert McLean, in 1932.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the C. M. E. church in Strong City. Rev, Chapman, presiding elder of the C. M. E. conference, assisted by Rev. Pride and Rev. Davis of Emporia, conducted the services. Resolutions from the church, Sunday school and Eastern Star chapter of which she was a member were read. An Emporia choir sang several songs, and Mrs. Estella McWilliams of Newton sang a solo. There were short services by Naomi chapter of Emporia.
Mrs. McLean leaves to mourn her death two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Ridley, Strong City, and Mrs. Nettie Carson, Emporia; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Dell, Emporia; three brothers, John Williams, Independence, Kan.; Crawford Williams, Geary, Ind.; Frank Williams, Wathena, Kan., and three grandchildren and other relatives.
Mary Elizabeth Williams was born March 13, 1871, in Parker County, Texas, and came to Strong City with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Williams, at the
age
of seven years. They settled on what was known as the Jones Ranch.

MRS AL MCLEAN IS DEAD
Mrs. Al McLean, well known colored woman, of Strong City, died suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Pearl Carson, in Emporia, Saturday, April 13.
Mrs. McLean's death came as the result of a heart attack. She had appeared to be in her usual
health up until a short time before her death
The funeral was held from the Colored Methodist church in Strong City at 2:30 Monday afternoon. Interment was in the Strong City cemetery.
Mrs. McLean had lived in Strong City ever since she was a small girl of seven years. She was born in Albany, Texas, coming to Strong City with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Williams about 1878. She was 64 years old.
She was married to Mr. McLean in 1887. His death occurred February 27, 1932.
Mrs. McLean is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Ridley, of Strong City, and Mrs. Pearl Carson, of Emporia. In recent years she had made her home with her two daughters, although she maintained her own home in Strong City.
