Meade, Sidney Roy "Sid"
Sidney R. "Sid" Meade, 62,
died Feb. 21, 2003, at the
Chase County Health and
Rehabilitation Center in
Cottonwood Falls. A celebra-
tion of His Life service was
conducted Feb. 25, 2003, in the
Brown-Bennett-Alexander
Funeral Home in Cottonwood
Falls with the Rev. John
Hastings of Strong City United
Methodist Church officiating.
Military Honors were provided
by the Fort Riley Honor Guard
at, the funeral home.
Cremation followed the service, with inurnment in Prairie
Grove Cemetery at a later
date.
Sidney Roy Meade was born
on Feb. 9, 1941, in Los
Angeles, Calif., to Sidney
Russell and Nellie Mae Goll
Meade. He was a chef and/or
managed restaurants in
Chase, Lyon and Morris counties. He was an Army Veteran
serving from 1963 until 1965.
Mr. Meade was a member of
the First Presbyterian Church
U.S.A. in Cottonwood Falls. He
belonged to the Ball McColm
American Post #5, VFW and
the Eagles in Emporia.
He is survived by two sisters, Betty Keener of Augusta
and Jeannie White of
Cottonwood Falls.
