Meierhoff, Dennis B.

The funeral for Dennis B. Meierhoff, 51, a lifetime resident of Emporia, was Oct. 23, 2003, in Charter Funerals-Emporia Chapel. The Rev. Tony DeWeese conducted the service. Burial was in Strong City Cemetery, southeast of Strong City.

Memorial contributions to Hand in Hand Hospice or the National MS Society can be sent to the funeral home, 501 W Sixth Ave., Emporia, KS 66801.

Mr. Meierhoff died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at the Holiday Resort. He worked in custodial services at Emporia State University for 15 years before he became ill. He also worked at the Didde company.

Dennis B. Meierhoff, the son of James and Edith Brooks Meierhoff, was born March 3, 1952, in Council Grove. He married Janice DeWeese on Dec. 31, 1992, in Reading. Mr. Meierhoff was a member of the First Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Melvin Parks Jr. of Americus and Jim Meierhoff of Bullhead City, Ariz.; two daughters, Michelle Meierhoff of Emporia and Jennifer Gordon of Lee's Summit, Mo.; two brothers, David Meierhoff and Daryl Meierhoff, both of Emporia; two sisters, Donna Shaw of Reading and Delight Long of Fort Smith, Ark.; and seven grandchildren.
