Merrill, James Edward

James Edward Merrill, 79, died Sunday, July 6, 2006. He was born July 17, 1926, in Leroy.

He graduated from CCCHS in Cottonwood Falls with the Class of 1944. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps. He then received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Kansas University, Class of 1952. His career spanned over 30 years working all over the world in designing, building and operating pipelines.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kathryn; son, James Richard "Rick" of Katy, Texas; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Winebright; mother, Arrilla Wadsworth; brother, Robert W. "Bob"; and sister. Louise K Cooper.

The memorial service was held on Friday, July 21, 2006, in the Sanctuary of Sugar Land First United Methodist Church, Sugar Land, Texas. Memorial donations may be made to A-Med Community Hospice at 3535 Briarpark Drive, Suite 220, Houston, Texas, or the charity of your choice.
