Miller, Arch Jr

Arch Miller, Jr , Dead

This Community was shocked Wednesday evening to hear of the death of Arch Miller, Jr, of South Fork. Mr. Miller has been overcome by heat several times and about ten days ago a horse he was saddling to ride plunged and ,struck, him on the head which caused serious injuries.

Since this time he has acted strangely and talked strangely at times and Wednesday afternoon there seemed to come over him an uncontrollable desire do himself harm. The folks at the house watched him but he excused himself to get a drink and a few minutes later they found him about two hundred yards from the house, dead.

Mr. Miller's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arch Miller are visiting in Illinois and Michigan and are expected home today, also his sister, Mrs. Arch Harpole, of Illinois. His brother, Will, came home from Excelsior Springs, Thursday. Mrs. Miller's brother, Mr. McAndrews Is expected in from Oregon Saturday or Sunday.

The funeral will be held at the Miller home Sunday or Monday and the body laid to resit in the family burying ground.

Mr. Miller was one of the most capable and energetic young men of this county, He enjoyed the universal respect of the entire community and his prospects were indeed bright. It is especially sad that such a young man should be taken in the beginning of a useful and successful career.

His young wife and his aged parents and and his brothers and sisters have the sincere sympathy of the entire community in thier sorrow. No family in the county is more highly respected than the Miller family. They came here among the first settlers and by industry and economy and square dealing have accumulated a fortune and won the friendship and esteem of the Chase county people who mourn with them in their affliction.
