Alice E.Brown Mock

Alice E. Mock, 79, a resident of Holiday Resort, Emporia, died there Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003.

Alice E. Brown was born near Elmdale on April 19, 1924, the daughter of James C. and Willa Beck Brown. She married Lloyd Mock in her parent's home near Elmdale on Oct. 28, 1945. He died Feb. 10, 1982.

She was a homemaker, but in her younger years she drove a Skelly Oil truck for her father.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Emporia, and the Falls Chapter #25, Order of Eastern Star, Cottonwood Falls.

She is survived by two sons, Russell Mock, Platte City, Mo. and J.C. Mock, Emporia; a daughter, Sharon Robinson, Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.

The funeral service was at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, Dec. 3. The service was conducted by Pastor Mic McGuire, Grace United Methodist Church, Emporia. Interment was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. Memorials to the Emporia Friends Of The Zoo may be sent to the funeral home 605 State St., Emporia, KS 66801.
