Montgomery, John John Montgomery Dead
John Montgomery Rt. 5 died Sunday morning in the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.
Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel conducted by the Rev. Stephen J. Williams, Pastor of the First Congregational Church. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
John Montgomery, the son of John and Margaret Grey Montgomery was born Oct. 20th, 1880 in Glasgow Scotland. He came to the United States with his parents when he was eight months old and they settled in Chase County. He moved to Emporia in 1924, and was married to Hattie A. Zimmerman, Oct. 5, 1924, in Marion. He was a members of the Cottonwood Falls Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister, and is survived by his wife and two daughters June and Joyce, of the home; two brothers, D. R., Rt. 4, and James, Blackie, Alberta, Canada: three sisters, Mrs. D. D. Stewart, Calgary, Canada, Margaret Montgomery, Santa Monica, Calif,, and Katherine, 428 South Market St.
