Moore, Rawley Dudley

9 DEATH OF RAWLEY DUDLEY MOORE

Mr, Rawley Dudley Moore, father of Mrs. Orville Giger, died at the Giger home northeast of Elmdale Thursday, August 25. The funeral services were held at the Orville Giger home Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock. The remains were then taken to Manhattan where a short service was held at the cemetery at 2:30 o'clock.

Mr. Moore had been in poor health for several months but his condition became serious only a few weeks prior to his death last Thursday.

Rawley Dudley Moore was the son of William Moore and Celia Kinder Dudley Moore. He was born in Morgan county, Indiana, September 27, 1852. In 1856 the family moved to Bloomfield, Ia., and in 1860 to Huntsville, Mo.

On September 27, 1881 Mr. Moore was married at Macon, Mo., to Malcena Margaret Baker. Shortly after this they moved to Seneca, Kansas, where they resided until 1903, when they moved to Manhattan.

Four children were born to this union. Two of the children—a boy and a girl died in infancy. The other two children are Leona Estel (Mrs. H. C. Jennings) and Celia Caroline (Mrs. O. E. Giger.) Mrs. Moore's death occurred in 1915. Mrs. Jennings died in 1926.

Mrs. O. E. Giger is now the only surviving child. Mr. Moore is also survived by four grandsons, Gerald Moore Jennings, Harry Clayton Jennings, Jr., and David Dudley Jennings, all of Los Angeles, Calif., and Robert Moore Giger, of Elmdale. He also leaves one brother who is Albert V. Moore, of Laclede, Mo. Mr. Moore had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. O. E. Giger, at Elmdale for the past six years.
